Recognizing a great reader...

  This is sort of a unique post.  I had a lot of traffic last month, but then I needed to take a four week break from the internet and blogging with the death of my mother-in-law Johnnie Gonzales.  Although there were a few opportunities to log on and post things here or there, the circumstances really made it impossible for me.  There were a lot of times where I struggled with whether or not to give up on this hobby once again, forever this time.  *laughs*  For fans of comic books, I akin this whole thing to Spiderman and how many time ol' Peter Parker has shrugged off the costume and called it quits. 

  However, there are a few people who keep me posting here.  Even when traffic goes from hundreds or thousands of hits a day to 20 or 30 (which is very disheartening but understandable when there's nothing new to see on the site), the readership of just a few people keep my interest in doing this and this website alive.  That all being said, I'd like to take a moment to thank my friend Andrea who often comments under the moniker 'Agunn'.  Not only does she physically threaten me when I don't post at least on thing a day, but she actively comments and sends e-mails.  It's largely thanks to her that I'm still doing this now, at this very moment.  I have always had big hopes for my website, and as I am currently going to college and taking art and english classes, I expect that over time, the tone of the website will change from being what it is now (essentially just a linkdump of shit I find interesting) to a place where I post original content, art and music I've created, and count more on a community of dedicated readers to help keep the blog constantly updated and relivant.  That all being said, I really want to take a moment to thank Andrea for the time she invests in my website and her faith in me that I'll find interesting shit she can hopefully spread like the swine flu to others.  A good swine flu though.

   So yes, this post is for you Andrea.  You rule.  Just like the day I metcha, I knew you were somebody special and even though we rarely get to see each other anymore, I love you for being one of the raddest girls I've ever, ever met.  Using the very scientific, asteriks based rating system I occasionally use for movies, I'm giving you a wopping ******.  That's 6 when I've only actually calibrated my system to go up to 5.  You are that awesome.  Thank you for always coming back, even when it's slow.

  Experiment time for my blog - I've linked this to my Twitter and Facebook accounts.  I'll see how it goes for a couple of days and if it starts to irritate too many people, I'll make it go away.

Bageena 3.6.2 - Or Yeah, Just some Little Tweaks

Bageena is under going some growing pains.  A quick list of the changes;

  *  Obviously, the change from a plain white background to the new, far more striking 'Dark like a Ninja' layout.  Small change, probably won't last long, we'll see what ya'lls opinion is on the new look.

  *  All new breakdown on the list of Categories along with much more clever and descriptive filters. A new Politicks filter, a straight link to JUST the movie reviews here, and the hints at the evolution to come - Bageena Exclusives, Bageena Soup, Original Artwork, Original Music, and much more pointing towards the fact that within the next 30 days, the website will focus less on offering two dozen links a day without much background or follow up information regarding the subjects on the post to a much, much more content-driven website focusing on what I consider to be the strong points of my blog.  Namely, my music reviews, upcoming essays, a look into the book I'm writing, peeks at the Bageena/DoubleApress t-shirt designs and generally new design work, and other (again) original content you'll only find at THIS SITE.  Yes, that's right; a reason to come back every single day.  You don't have to thank me.  Flowers would be fine.

  *  More of an addendum to the last bit I just posted; I'm going back and redoing all the Categories on over 2,000 past posts.  It will take awhile for all of them to be fixed and updated, but you can expect that as I go through all them there posts, I'll be cleaning up post Titles and adding comments and updates to said prior posts.  It might be worth your time to start digging into the site and checking out everything, past and present, for great additional content to share with your significant other (or your cat, whatever).

  *  Soon, ever so soon, you'll hear many more voices than mine in your head.  Kai Arnold and Tara Press, a great friend and roommate along with my ever-beautiful wife Tara will 'try their best' to bring you crescent fresh content, opinions, and perspectives other than my own.  As time goes by, I'll hopefully be rounding out the authorship by finding Republicans/Conservatives, other artists and writers, and whomever else I believe would add to the overall awesome vibe at Bageena.

  *  That's it.  I told you it was just a few weeks.  Wish I could make an announcement that I've invented a newer, faster iPod and build the rest of my exciting news around that, but Apple I am not.  Sorry.  I'm glad you're still with me though, even down here at the bottom of the post, two paragraphs in.  You're a trooper.

Learning to blog from my phone...

Seeing as I've finally found some work, it means I will not be able to surf the net nearly as much. What that means for bageena is less spamming of posts that are just links and more quality posts about the news, movie, music, and book reviews and other things that actually require me to type stuff. Just forgive any grammer mistakes - the g1 isn't the easiest thing to blog on. So I will start off with some movie reviews I've been meaning to post but was too lazy to. You've probably already seen most of the movies I will review, but remember that this website isn't just for you, dear reader. There aren't too many of you anyways. I really use this blog to write down stuff I've seen and done so I can more easily recall it later. I end up watching too many bad movies more than once. I blame pot.
