So supporters of Saturday’s “tea party” protests against President Barack Obama were quick to highlight their big turnout. To bolster countless claims on blogs and Facebook, many posted a photograph that showed a gargantuan crowd sprawling from Capitol Hill down the National Mall to the Washington Monument. But it turns out the photo is more than 10 years old, apparently taken during a 1997 Promise Keepers rally.

This brave man walked through the anti-health care crowd with his large poster and was immediately set upon by the crowd. One person spit on him, while others pushed and tried to grab his flag until the police intervened. Most of the crowd around him turned on him like rabid dogs, yelling epithets and things like commie, why dont you leave this country etc. Impressively, he remained unflappable and had this little smile on the whole time.

At no time did ABC News, or its affiliates, report a number anywhere near as large. ABCNews.com reported an approximate figure of 60,000 to 70,000 protesters, attributed to the Washington, D.C., fire department. In its reports, ABC News Radio described the crowd as "tens of thousands."

If Joe Wilson's outburst during Obama's speech Wednesday night was truly "spontaneous," as Wilson claims, and no one (including Wilson himself) could have anticipated it, how come there is a sharply focused and neatly centered picture of Wilson right at the moment he shouted "You lie!" when the outburst lasted less than a second? In the picture, Wilson's mouth is still open, apparently in the middle of his shouting "lie."

Couched as a survey, it contained one question that reads, "It has been suggested that the government could use voter registration to determine a person's political affiliation, prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health care rationing system.   Comes this awesome action figure.  Awesome not because it's supposed to be some sort of slag against the president and his OMG SOCIALIST COMMIE WAYS by trying to make sure everyone has health insurance (honestly Americans, you are the dumbest fucking group of people I've ever had the displeasure of being a part of.  Nobody works harder to make sure we have less than you, especially the middle and lower class, whom, of course, would benefit the greatest from government backed healthcare.)

  It's amazing to watch as a few hundred people at 'town hall meetings' who, it's come to light, are mostly just actors, props, vehicles of the right wing noise machine, literally getting paid MONEY to scream as loudly as possible to block any kind of reasonable discussion or debate over the healthcare bill.  Will they succeed as they did against the Clinton healthcare bill?  Probably.  Sadly, they probably will.  Our country is so, so, so stupid, and before anyone tells me to leave if I don't like it, I say send me a check or money order that will cover expenses for my passport and steer me in the direction of ANY country that rates higher than ours on the human rights list (there's about 60 of them) and I'll pack my shit and leave tonight.  Canada, Switzerland, Jamaica, whatever.  I'm cool.  I don't care about being in the most consumer-right... or maybe it's just consumer-friendly country in the world.  I'm tired of being a consumer.  I'm tired of accruing debt I can't pay for shit I don't need.  Stop buying it then, you say?  Sure.  I did.  I have my tvs and my computer and the wedding I wanted and a car.  I don't want to buy a house or a horse or anything else plastic or shiny - I want to save my money to travel, to experience life, to see the sights.  But I digress.

  I personally want this toy (lol, I know, I said I wasn't going to buy anything) because OBAMA is AWESOME and THE JOKER is AWESOME and whether or not the point of the toy is to bash Obama for daring to try this crazy-awful bill that nobody has actually read, instead opting to parrot whatever talking points Fox News or Drudge Report or the forwards they keep getting from Glenn Beck or their grandparents.  No, I want the toy simply because it's a toy, it's Obama and the Joker all rolled into one little QB of awesome.  You can find the toy here.  It's limited in quantity, extremely limited... there's only 2000 of them which is probably about the real amount of people who LOVE our healthcare just as it is now.

Daily Kos: Glenn Beck Fan, Highly Armed, Busted For Casing National Guard Base, Thinking It Was A "FEMA Camp".

As reported by Saturday's NY Post, "a Long Island mother of three -- armed to the teeth with an assault rifle and shotgun -- was arrested for scouting out and taking pictures of an Air National Guard base."

Her arsenal included an XM-15 assault rifle, a shotgun and 500 rounds of ammunition.

The woman, Nancy Genovese, had been seen at the base a few weeks earlier, taking photos and questioning the guards. This time she had returned to take photos of the perimeter of the base. It's not difficult to make the connection that she was paranoid about "FEMA Camps".
